Certification

Our certification body pursues an independent, neutral approach in carrying out its work based on national and international standards. Certificates from Austrian Standards provide reliable proof of quality and expertise when doing business in Austria and abroad. We offer certifications for products, individuals, services and management systems.

We also act as a monitoring body in the context of Article 41 GDPR on behalf of the competent professional associations of the Austrian Economic Chamber (WKÖ) and are accredited by the Austrian Data Protection Authority. Find out more here.

Why it pays to get certified – your advantages:

An independent body provides you with confirmation that your product, service, management system or employees meet the relevant standards and quality requirements. This instils customer trust and sets you apart from your competitors. Certifications are often a requirement for participation in tendering processes as well.

Quality is a requirement for certification. By holding a valid certificate from an independent body, you are providing your customers and business partners with proof of the quality of your products and services. A personal certification gives you an objective way of demonstrating the specialist expertise and qualifications you hold as an individual.

A certification helps you get started in new markets, win new customers and pursue new directions in sales and marketing. In our era of globalisation, introducing standards and becoming certified creates a basis for comparison at the international level.

We are independent and impartial.

Our management and the entire certification team are aware of the tremendously important role that impartiality plays in our work, and they are unconditionally committed to the following principles:

As full-time employees, our staff at Austrian Standards plus GmbH are completely independent from the suppliers and manufacturers of products, the services they provide and any other interests.

Because Austrian Standards plus GmbH and the certification body have a balanced portfolio of customers, there is no dependence on individual clients.

The certification body does not give the applicant organisation any advice – and likewise does not provide any consulting services on approaches for handling situations – that could prevent the organisation from attaining the certification they have applied for.

Austrian Standards plus GmbH does not offer any products, services or systems of any other type that could jeopardise the confidentiality, objectivity or impartiality of the certification process or decisions on certifications.

Customers are not discriminated against due to gender, religion, ethnic background or ideology, disabilities, age or sexual identity. We also ensure that access to the certification process does not depend on the size of the company or membership in an organisation, nor is the certification influenced by the number of certifications already issued.

The management of the certification body bears sole responsibility for all decisions relating to the awarding, maintenance, extension, suspension and revocation of certificates. In particular, the executive board asserts that the management of the certification body is not to take any instruction from any organ of Austrian Standards plus GmbH or Austrian Standards International when making decisions regarding the issuing of certificates.
