Once you have registered, Austrian Standards will verify your details and will usually activate the desired payment method within one working day.

If you have already registered, simply log in with your login details.

If you have forgotten your password or it no longer works, click on the "Login" button. Here you will find the option to reset your password. Enter the email address you used to register on the Austrian Standards website. We will send an email to this address with a link to create a new password. If you have not received an email, please check your spam folder.

You can find your user details in your account settings under "Meine Daten und Einstellungen". Please note that changes to these details require verification by Austrian Standards and are not immediately active for future orders. Austrian Standards usually implements changes within one working day.

If you cannot see the "Meine Daten und Einstellungen" menu item under "Einstellungen", please contact the administrator of your Austrian Standards application.

You may already be familiar with the option of using your social media account to log in to other online portals.

This is known as the single login principle, where just one user name and one password can be used to log in to a wide range of online applications.

With the "WKO.at SingleLogin" application, the Austrian Economic Chamber (WKO) has developed an application for the B2B sector that you can use to log in to our site more easily.

If you have an account with the WKO, you can log in to our customer area quickly and easily via "WKO.at SingleLogin" using your usual WKO password.

Here's how it works:

  1. Click on the "Login mit WKO" button.
  2. You will then be directed to the WKO page where you can enter your WKO login details.
  3. After successfully logging in, you will be taken back to our website automatically and can start using your desired application straight away.

You can find more information on the single login here.

Purchase standards

effects 2.0

You can find detailed instructions for all functions in our user guide (only in German).

If you have the role of purchaser in your organisation and would like to purchase documents to be added to the effects 2.0 collection, please switch to "Gesamtbestand". Extensive filter and sorting functions are available within this collection of documents.

When ordering a document, you can specify whether it should be marked "Update-Info" or "Auto-Update". You can adjust your selection at any time by changing the option in the effects menu under "Update-Einstellungen".

Please note that any change to these options will change the effects infomailing or trigger a paid subscription for successor documents.

effects 2.0 is a software solution for companies, so defined user authorisations are in place. If you do not have order authorisation in the complete effects collection and would like to change this, please contact your effects administrator.

To create a list of documents in your effects 2.0 collection as an Excel file, you need administrator rights! Please select "Update-Einstellungen" in the effects menu and click on "Download Update Einstellungen (Gesamtliste)" to download an Excel file. It can take a few minutes to generate this file, as your documents are requested in real time.

As this notification is an important service of effects 2.0, it can only be deactivated by the administrator of the effects group.

The comparison service enables effects 2.0 users to make a simple comparison with the previous version of standards. This is often referred to as redlining. This allows you to react more quickly and efficiently to adapt your own products or services.

Please note:

  • The comparison is automatically generated by software. Austrian Standards accepts no liability for completeness and accuracy.
  • The contents of graphics are not compared.
  • The comparison service is available free of charge to all effects 2.0 basic and effects 2.0 premium users until further notice.

The comparison service is available for all documents (from all publishers) under the following conditions:

  • effects 2.0 basic or effects 2.0 premium
  • You also have the previous version of the standard in your portfolio
  • It is the same language version
  • Predecessor-successor documents are in a 1:1 relationship

The service is not available for drafts.

Access effects 2.0 as usual with your user data.

Open the details page of a document. If the criteria are met (see above), the ‘Comparison service’ button is displayed. The service opens a few seconds after you click on it.

The interactive view, also known as the ‘side-by-side’ view, enables a parallel view of both document versions. Both documents remain synchronised while you scroll. All changes are displayed in a list on the right-hand side of the screen.

The following colour code helps you to find your way around:

  • Red: Content has been removed
  • Green: Content has been added
  • Blue: Content has been moved
