Diese ÖNORM ist für im Wickelverfahren industriell hergestellte GFK1)-Rohre aus glasfaserverstärkten ungesättigtem Polyesterharz (GF-UP-Schleuderrohre) anzuwenden. GF-UP-Wickelrohre gemäß dieser ÖNORM werden ausschließlich mit beweglichen, nicht längskraftschlüssigen Kupplungen hergestellt. Diese ÖNORM ist auch für GF-UP-Wickelrohre anzuwenden. Rohre gemäß dieser ÖNORM werden vorzugsweise zum Transport flüssiger Medien eingesetzt und können, abhängig von der Rohrklasse, mit einem Innendruck größer als PN 1 als Druckrohre oder mit PN 1 als Kanalrohre verwendet werden. Sie können dabei sowohl erdverlegt - mit oder ohne Betonummantelung - als auch frei verlegt zum Einsatz gelangen. Rohre gemäß dieser ÖNORM dürfen in der Trinkwasserversorgung nur dann eingesetzt werden, wenn sie allen Anforderungen des Trinkwasser-Leitungsbaues, insbesondere den Anforderungen nach dem österrreichischen Lebensmittelgesetz in der jeweils gültiger Fassung entsprechen. Rohre für Wasser und Abwasser gemäß dieser ÖNORM können mit einer Dauerbetriebstemperatur bis zu 35 C verwendet werden.1) Kurzzeichen gemäß ÖNORM C 9720-2
