This ÖNORM defines the setup and interaction of all components of a fire alarm system to a fire detection system as well as requirements for networked fire detection systems. The purpose of this ÖNORM is to establish uniform minimum requirements for a fire alarm system. All individual components must meet the relevant ÖNORMs in general. Components for which no relevant ÖNORMs are available must meet the requirements of clause 5. A fulfilment of the requirements for individual components does not mean that the combination of these components also meets the requirements of this ÖNORM. The compatibility of individual components has to comply with ÖNORM EN 54-13. The requirements of this ÖNORM apply to all connections of individual components of a fire detection system, which are capable of automatically detecting, evaluating and possibly forwarding fire characteristics. Peripheral devices, which are not directly used for the detection, evaluation and transmission of fire characteristics, must be able to be connected at least back-up-free, as long as no further requirements are present in the following.
