This European Standard specifies main dimensions, construction and requirements for rope tubs.
Rope tubs are used on inland vessels to stow up steel wire ropes, man-made fibre ropes or natural fibre ropes
which are needed for example for tying and hauling. The use of rope tubs prevents the risk to the Crew during
manoeuvres, of getting entangled in tightening slings or stumbling over ropes laid down on deck.
