ÖNORM B 5320

This Austrian Standard shall be applied to the design and execution for fitting of windows, door height windows and external doors in conditioned and non-conditioned buildings or building parts being in direct contact to external climate. Furthermore, this Standard also applies to the fitting of windows between conditioned and non-conditioned rooms. Hereinafter, windows, door height windows and external doors will be shortly referred to as "windows. This Austrian Standard applies to new construction, rehabilitation as well as to the exchange of windows. The present ÖNORM neither covers repair and/or reconstruction of existing windows, nor works in the field of monument protection. Moreover, the present ÖNORM is not applicable to roof windows, roof lights, etc. For fire protection requirements, the applicability has to be checked for each specific case. This Standard does not deal with connection joints within coupled window constructions; these have to fulfil the requirements of ÖNORM B 5300.
