Valid
This guideline is valid for the passive corrosion protection of buried metal natural gas pipelines facilities according to the Natural Gas Law. The guideline deals with the requirements for the factory coating of steel pipes, structure, and manufacture of field joint coatings for seam welds, bare pipeline components, fittings, valves (e. g. bends, split tees, knock-out pots, gate valves, flanges, insulated joints) as well as the repair of defects in the factory or field coting. This guideline is also valid for “additional coatings” for obtaining a higher electrical breakdown strength. Furthermore, this guideline deals with the most common types of “additional mechanical protection” of factory coatings or field coating (protection of the coating). This directive does not apply to metal fittings used in natural gas pipes made of PE according to OVGW-guideline G E110.
