This guideline is applicable for the design and construction of cathodic protection stations for buried gas pipelines made of steel.
For buried metallic tanks, relevant for the operation of gas pipelines, this guideline can be applied analogously and in addition reference is made to ÖNORM EN 13636.
The construction of hotspot protection stations is described in the OVGW Guideline G E814.
The commissioning and decommissioning of cathodic protection stations is described in the OVGW Guideline G B112. For the maintenance of the cathodic protection systems for gas pipelines made of steel ÖVGW Guideline G B331 has to be applied.
