Diese ÖVGW-Richtlinie ist für die Planung und Errichtung von kathodischen Korrosionsschutzanlagen für erdverlegte Gasleitungen aus Stahlrohren sowie von erdverlegten Lagerbehältern aus Stahl im Bereich der Erdgasversorgung unter besonderer Berücksichtigung der einschlägigen Vorschriften anzuwenden. Sie gilt jedoch nicht für lokale Korrosionsschutzanlagen im Sinne der AfK-Empfehlung Nr. 9. Für die Inbetriebnahme und die Überwachung des kathodischen Korrosionsschutzes erdverlegter Gasleitungen aus Stahlrohren und erdverlegter Lagerbehälter aus Stahl gilt die ÖVGW-Richtlinie G 21.
