This Austrian Standard specifies requirements for planning, design and operation activities for prevention of corrosion damage, scale formation and deposits in closed water-based heating systems with operating temperatures up to 100 °C. This Austrian Standard is applicable to newly installed systems; it shall be applied to closed heating systems, heated directly by boilers and indirectly by converters (according to ÖNORM EN 12828) with operating temperatures up to maximum 100 °C. For district heating networks, the directives defined by the network operator apply. If the manufacturer of the heating system or the producer of the components define specifications exceeding the requirements of this Austrian Standard, these shall be observed
