Diese ÖNORM legt Anforderungen an die Planung, die Errichtung und den Betrieb zur Verhütung von Korrosionsschäden, Steinbildung und Ablagerungen in geschlossenen Warmwasser-Heizungsanlagen mit Betriebstemperaturen bis 100 °C fest. Diese ÖNORM ist für neu zu errichtende Anlagen anzuwenden. Diese ÖNORM ist für direkt mittels Heizkessel und indirekt mittels Umformer beheizte geschlossene Heizungsanlagen (gemäß ÖNORM EN 12828) mit Betriebstemperaturen bis maximal 100 °C anzuwenden. Für Fernwärmenetze gelten die Richtlinien des Netzbetreibers. Werden vom Hersteller der Heizungsanlage oder vom Erzeuger der Komponenten über die Anforderungen dieser ÖNORM hinausgehende Festlegungen getroffen, so sind diese einzuhalten.
