Behandelt sind Anforderungen an Schläuche für Schweißen, Schneiden und verwandte Verfahren. Der Ausdruck "verwandte Verfahren" bedeutet insbesondere Wärmen, Hartlöten und Spritzen. Die Norm gilt für Schläuche für normale und leichte Klassen (eingeschränkt auf Schläuche für einen maximalen Betriebsdruck bis zu 10 bar mit einer Nennweite bis 6,3 mm), die eingesetzt werden bei: a) Gasschweißen und Schneiden b) Lichtbogenschweißen unter dem Schutz eines inerten oder aktiven Gases, c) verwandten Verfahren zum Schweißen und Schneiden. Sie gilt nicht für Kunststoffschläuche und für Schläuche, die für Hochdruck-Azetylen (mehr als 1,5 bar) verwendet werden.
