Diese ÖNORM EN beschreibt die wesentlichen Merkmale von in Platten- oder Fliesenform geliefertem Linoleum mit oder ohne Dekoration. Sie definiert die Anforderungen in bezug auf Hygiene und Sicherheit. Weiters enthält sie eine Tabelle, die die Leistungserfordernisse bei diversen Prüfmethoden aufzeigt, sowie ein Klassifizierungsschema. Andere Beläge, wie z. B. solche aus PVC und Kautschuk, fallen nicht in den Anwendungsbereich dieser Norm.
