The Guideline G 96 is applicable for CNG filling applications for the fuelling of NGV vehicles, which are supplied with gas according to OVGW Guideline G 31, independent of the usage of the CNG filling applications (private, commercial, industrial or agricultural). This guideline shall be used for the installation, connection and the operation of a CNG filling application which operates below the following limits: - maximum filling and operating pressure: 200 bar (20 MPa) at 15°C (gas temperature) - maximum output volume: < 15m³ /h (at standard conditions) - maximum inlet pressure of < 5 bar (0,5 MPa) According to this guideline the NGV must be filled directly from the CNG filling application with-out a high pressure storage tank/vessel in between. So the filling of the NGV may take some time up (e.g. several hours; “slow fill”). All CNG filling installations comprising also a high pressure storage tank have to be treated according to OVGW Guideline G 97 irrespective of the gas output volume of their compressor. Legal provisions and official instructions expressing another opinion than this guideline are not affected by present guideline.
