Diese Richtlinie ergänzt die in den ÖVGW-Richtlinien G 73/1 und G 73/2 unter Abschnitt 7 angeführten Vorschriften über Betrieb und Instandhaltung. Sie gilt für die Überwachung und die Wartung von Gasdruck- regelanlagen. Sinngemäß kann diese Richtlinie auch für Meßanlagen gemäß den ÖVGW-Richtlinien G 74 und G 75 angewendet werden. Durch Gesetze oder Bescheide festgelegte Überprüfungen und personelle Anforderungen werden durch diese Richtlinie nichtberührt.
