Die Norm legt die Störfestigkeitsprüfverfahren und den Bereich bevorzugter Prüfschärfegrade (Prüfpegel) für elektrische und elektronsiche Geräte bzw. Einrichtungen (Eingangsstrom bis 16 A je Leiter), die zum Anschluss an Niederspannungs-Stromversorgungsnetze vorgesehen sind, gegenüber Spannungseinbrüchen, Kurzzeitunterbrechungen und Spannungsschwankungen fest. Sie gilt nicht für elektrische oder elektronsche Geräte bzw. Einrichtungen, die zum Anschluss an Gleichstrom- oder 400-Hz-Wechselstrom-Versorgungsnetze bestimmt sind.
