Diese ÖVE/ÖNORM gilt für die Auswahl von Leuchten und das Errichten von Beleuchtungsanlagen.
Zusätzliche Anforderungen für besondere Arten von Beleuchtungsanlagen sind in verschiedenen Teilen enthalten:
- ÖVE/ÖNORM E 8001-4-714 für Beleuchtungsanlagen im Freien,
- ÖVE/ÖNORM E 8001-4-715 für Kleinspannungs-Beleuchtungsanlagen.
Die Anforderungen dieses Abschnitts gelten nicht für:
- mit Niederspannung versorgte hinterleuchtete Anzeigen, welche mit Hochspannung betrieben werden (genannt Neon-Leuchten),
- Schilder und Leuchtröhrenanlagen mit einer Leerlaufspannung über 1 kV aber nicht über 10 kV (siehe ÖVE/ÖNORM EN 50107 Reihe).
