Der vorliegende Teil 410 der IEC 60811 beschreibt das Prüfverfahren für die Sauerstoffalterung eines Polyolefins unter Kupfereinfluss, das normalerweise für die Isolierung von Nachrichtenübertragungskabeln verwendet wird. Die vollständigen Prüfbedingungen, wie Temperatur, Dauer usw. und sämtliche Prüfanforderungen sind in der vorliegenden Norm nicht festgelegt; vorgesehen ist, dass sie von der Norm vorgegebenen werden sollten, die sich mit der betreffenden Kabel- oder Leitungsbauart befasst.
