This Austrian Standard (ÖNORM) defines requirements and test methods for snow chains based on ÖNORM EN 16662-1 that are intended for use on vehicles of the classes M1, N1, O1 and O2 according to § 3 of the Motor Vehicles Act of 1967 and that, if used as intended, provide a minimum of slide protection.
The requirements for self-monitoring (factory production control) are specified in normative Annex A and the recommended conformity criteria in informative Annex B.
