Diese ÖNORM ist anzuwenden für die Ausführung des Ventileinschraubgewindes W 31,3 ) (28E) bei Gasflaschen und Gasflaschenventilen, welches für das Gas Acetylen festgelegt ist. Sie legt die Maße und die Toleranzen für das kegelige Gewinde W 31,3 x 1/14keg. mit dem Nenndurchmesser d3 = 28,3 fest. Die ÖNORM enthält keine Anforderungen an die Verbindung zwischen Gasflaschenventil und Gasflasche hinsichtlich mechanischer Festigkeit, Gasdichtheit oder Fähigkeit, eine Reihe von Montagen und Demontagen unbeschadet zu überstehen.
