Es werden die Berechnung und die Ausführung von Auflagerkonstruktionen liegender, weder durch Längsträger noch durch Ringe versteifter, im wesentlichen zylindrischer ortsfester Druckgefäße und Druckbehälter für vorwiegend ruhende Beanspruchung festgelegt. Diese Behälter werden außer durch Innendruck noch zusätzlich durch Eigengewicht, Gewicht des Inhaltes, globale Biegemomente, Querkräfte und lokale Spannungen an den Auflagern beansprucht. Die genaue Ermittlung dieser zusätzlichen Spannungen ist aufwendig und kompliziert; die ÖNORM bietet hiezu einfache Abschätzungen mit einer für die meisten Anwendungsfälle ausreichenden Genauigkeit an. Auf den Einfluß der Auflagerkonstruktion - Sättel, Ringe oder Einzelfüße - sowie den der Unterstützungsebene wird hingewiesen. Die angegebenen Formeln sind Abschätzungen der Maximalwerte der Spannung im Behältermantel. Sie basieren auf empirischen Untersuchungen von Behältern mit Durchmesser/Wanddicke-Verhältnissen bis 1250/l.
