In dieser ÖNORM wird festgelegt, welche Mess- und Regelgeräte für Bäder, die zur Desinfektion Chlorgas, Natriumhypochlorit, Kaliumhypochlorit, Lithiumhypochlorit oder Calciumhypochlorit einsetzen, für den einwandfreien Betrieb einer Badewasser-Aufbereitungsanlage erforderlich sind und welchen Anforderungen sie entsprechen müssen. Diese ÖNORM ist nur auf Anlagen anzuwenden, die der Bäderhygieneverordnung unterliegen. Für Anlagen, in denen zusätzlich chlorithältige oder chlordioxidhältige Stoffe eingesetzt werden, müssen die Anforderungen noch festgelegt werden. Die im Zusammenhang mit Chlorgas-Anlagen oder Ozonungsanlagen erforderlichen Messgeräte sind ÖNORM M 5879-1 bzw. ÖNORM M 5878 zu entnehmen.
