This Austrian Standard defines requirements for the installation of fire dampers in buildings. The requirements also apply to the installation of smoke control dampers according to ÖNORM H 6029. The application of fire dampers and smoke control dampers is regulated through conditions made by the authority, relevant Austrian Standards and technical guidelines. This Austrian Standard does not apply to the installation of fire dampers into wood masonry and wood ceilings. Fire resisting doorsets on intumescent basis with or without flexible closing element are not covered by this Austrian Standard.
