Dieser Teil von ISO 2811 gehört zu einer Reihe von Normen, welche die Probenahme und die Prüfung von Beschichtungsstoffen wie Anstrichstoffe und Lacke behandeln. Er legt ein Verfahren zum Bestimmen der Dichte von Beschichtungsstoffen mit einem Pyknometer fest. Das Verfahren ist nur für Stoffe mit niedriger oder mittlerer Viskosität bei der Prüftemperatur anwendbar. Das Pyknometer nach Hubbard ist geeignet für hochviskose Stoffe.
