Die Norm legt ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung des Haft- und Dehnverhaltens von Dichtstoffen mit vorwiegend plastischem Verhalten fest, die zur Abdichtung von Fugen im Hochbau verwendet werden. Im Zuge des Prüfverfahrens werden Probe- und Referenzprobekörper hergestellt, in denen der zu prüfende Dichtstoff an zwei parallelen Kontaktflächen haftet. Nachdem die Probekörper unter festgelegten Bedingungen Dehn-Stauch-Zyklen unterworfen worden sind, werden die Proben und die Referenzprobekörper bis zum Bruch gedehnt, wobei Kraft-Längenänderungs-Diagramme aufgenommen werden.
