Behandelt sind Durchstrahlungsprüfungen von Schmelzschweißverbindungen an metallischen Werkstoffen. Sie gelten für Schweißverbindungen von Platten und Rohren. Neben der konventionellen Bedeutung sollten unter der Benennung "Rohr" auch andere zylindrische Körper wie Druckleitungen, Kesseltrommeln und Druckbehälter verstanden werden. Die Prüfung muß von geeignetem Personal durchgeführt werden, das nach einem von den Vertragspartnern vereinbarten System qualifiziert wurde. Nicht festgelegt sind Annahmekriterien für Fehler; beschrieben sind allgemeine Regeln für dieDurchstrahlungsprüfung.
