Eine Vollmaske ist ein Atemanschluß, der Augen, Nase, Mund und Kinn bedeckt und durch den Luft aus einem Atemschutzgerät eingeatmet und ausgeatmet wird. Sie sichert einen angemessenen, dichten Abschluß des Gesichtes des Benützers gegen die Umgebungsatmosphäre während des Tragens. Behandelt werden Mindestanforderungen für Vollmasken, die als Bestandteil eines Atemschutzgerätes benützt werden, sowie deren Überprüfung in Form von Laborprüfungen und praktischen Leistungsprüfungen. Es ist vorgesehen, Atemschutzgeräte nur dann zuzulassen, wenn die einzelnen Komponenten die Anforderungen der Prüfvorschriften erfüllen und wenn mit einem vollständigen Gerät praktische Leistungsprüfungen durchgeführt wordensind.
