Diese ÖNORM legt allgemeine sicherheitstechnische Anforderungen und Prüfverfahren für Spielplatzgeräte fest. Diese Anforderungen wurden so festgelegt, daß sie die nach heutigen Erkenntnissen kalkulierbaren Risikofaktoren in bezug auf Geräte auf Kinderspielplätzen berücksichtigen. Anforderungen werden ua. festgelegt für Werkstoffe, zB bzgl. Entflammbartkeit und Toxizität, Standsicherheit der Konstruktion, Absturzsicherung, Oberflächenbeschaffenheit der Geräte, Fangstellen, Mindestfreiräumen und Fundamenten. In Anhängen sind Verfahren zur Berechnung und zur Prüfung der Standfestigkeit von Spielplatzgeräten angegeben.
