This ÖNORM defines Terms and product categories for coating materials which are named as oils, waxes or oil/wax-systems for treatement of wood in interior and exterior applications. It enables exact designation, definition and categorisation of these coat-ing materials by their chemical basis and/or physical properties. This ÖNORM has to be used in addition to ÖNORM EN ISO 4618.
Other coating materials such as lacquers are only mentioned to enable a separation of product categories.
