Diese ÖNORM enthält Mindestanforderungen an Beschichtungsstoffe für transparente Beschichtungen (Versiegelungen) von Holzfußböden, welche für trockene Innenräume vorgesehen sind. Unter Holzfußböden im Sinne dieser ÖNORM sind alle Beläge aus Holz, wie Stab-, Riemen-, Mosaik(Klebe-), Tafelparkett, Fertigparkettelemente, Schiffböden und Holzpflasterklötze zu verstehen. Diese können vor oder nach einer fachgerechten Verlegung gemäß ÖNORM B 2218 im handwerklichen oder industriellen Auftragsverfahren einer Oberflächenbehandlung unterzogen werden. Oberflächenbehandlungen mit Ölen und Wachsen sind nicht Gegenstand dieser Norm.
