Diese ÖNORM ist für alle werksmäßig hergestellten Dämmstoffe gemäß 3.2, die für den Wärme- und/oder Schallschutz im Hochbau verwendet werden, anzuwenden. Sie enthält für die einzelnen Dämmstoffarten Verweise auf die jeweiligen Produktnormen sowie Übersichtstabellen über die Verwendungsgebiete. Die Prüfmethoden sind entweder in der ÖNORM B 6010 oder in den jeweiligen Produktnormen festgelegt. Dämmstoffe anderer Lieferformen, zB Dämmputze, sind nicht Gegenstand dieser ÖNORM. Diese ÖNORM regelt nicht die Anwendung von Dämmstoffen, für die keine entsprechende Produktnorm vorliegt. Bezüglich der Euroklassen von Dämmstoffen gilt als Mindestanforderung an das Brandverhalten die Klasse E. Die Anforderungen an das Brandverhalten von Dämmstoffen im Hochbau sind der VORNORM ÖNORM B 3806 zu entnehmen.
