This Austrian Standard shall be applied jointly with ÖNORM B 5320 to the testing of installation of windows, French doors and external doors, including exterior mounting parts (e.g. sun and insect screens and/or ventilation appliances) in walls wich are in direct contact to external climate. Furthermore, this Standard also applies to the installation of windows between rooms with and without air condition. This ÖNORM applies to new buildings, to rehabilitation of buildings as well as to exchange of windows.
Hereinafter, windows, French doors and external doors are referred to as "windows".
The present ÖNORM does not apply to repair and/or reconstruction of existing windows as well as to activities in the field of monument protection. Moreover, the present ÖNORM does not cover roof windows, rooflights, façades and the like.
