Die vorliegende ÖNORM bezieht sich auf Fenster, Fenstertüren und deren Kombinationen im Bauwesen, in Folge kurz "Fenster" genannt, unabhängig vom Werkstoff und der Art der Konstruktion. Sie enthält die Anforderungen an Fenster im Hinblick auf deren Luftdurchlässigkeit, Schlagregendichtheit und Widerstandsfähigkeit gegen Windwirkung sowie Angaben über die Eignungsprüfung. Die zugehörigen Klassifizierungen und Prüfmethoden sind den Europäischen Normen zu entnehmen, die in Österreich als ÖNORMEN EN veröffentlicht wurden.
