This ÖNORM contains minimum requirements for a tensile proof loading method for sawn timber for load
carrying purposes that has been strength graded by visual inspection or by machine.
The tensile proof loading method described in this standard
a) is a quality assurance measurement tool for the production of unjointed and finger jointed sawn
timber.
b) is a method to explicitly exclude "lower outliers" of strength, thus enabling the application of reduced
material-side partial safety factors for these sawn timbers.
