Diese ÖNORM ist für Außen- und Innen-Putzmörtel anzuwenden, die als Bindemittel Kalk, Zement oder die Kombination von Kalk und Zement bzw. Luftkalk und Gips enthalten. Wenn der Hauptanteil des Bindemittels Luftkalk ist, so gelten die Festlegungen dieser ÖNORM. Ist Kalziumsulfat (Gips) die wesentliche Komponente, so gilt die ÖNORM B 3371. Über die Zuordnung entscheidet der Putzhersteller. Baustellengemischte Putzmörtel, Sanierputzsysteme, Sondermörtel sowie Spachtelmassen, Anstriche und ähnliche Beschichtungen und vorgefertigte Elemente (z.B. Gipskartonplatten) sind nicht Gegenstand dieser ÖNORM. Diese ÖNORM erfaßt Außen- und Innen-Putzmörtel, mit Ausnahme von Baustellen-Putzmörtel.
