This ÖNORM is to be used for the determination of the complete stress-strain-curve and the deduction of strength and deformation parameters (modulus of elasticity, Poisson's ratio, deformation modulus) under short-term uniaxial compressive loading of solid rock.
The scope includes the determination of the mentioned properties regarding characterisation and classification of rocks as well as the derivation of their characteristic values for geotechnical questions, especially geostatic calculation methods.
Excluded from the scope of this ÖNORM are the provisions on compressive strength and modulus of elasticity of ashlars made of natural stone contained in ÖNORM EN 1926 and ÖNORM EN 14580.
