This document specifies names and abbreviations for the designation and identification of types of wood and provides information on the characteristics of important commercial woods. Characteristic values for strength and modules according to Table 2 to Table 14 cannot be directly transferred to timber. The influence of the size and nature of the wooden parts must be particularly taken into account here.
