Diese ÖNORM enthält Benennungen und Kurzzeichen für die Bezeichnung und Kennzeichnung von Holzarten und ist für die Feststellung der Kennwerte der wichtigsten Handelshölzer anzuwenden. Kennwerte für Festigkeiten und Moduln gemäß den Tabellen 2 bis 12 können nicht unmittelbar auf Bauholz übertragen werden. Hier ist der Einfluss von Größe und Beschaffenheit der Holzteile besonders zu berücksichtigen. Bei tragenden Bauteilen (Holztragwerken) baulicher Anlagen sind für den Sicherheitsnachweis die Materialkennwerte gemäß ÖNORM B 4100-2 zu verwenden.
