This standard contains technical requirements for the production and construction of timber buildings. The main parts of the wall-, floor- and roof constructions are made by wood and/or wood-based materials.
The present ÖNORM applies to residential houses and timber buildings with similar room climatic conditions and uses as in residential buildings (e.g. office buildings, schools, kindergartens, dormitories, hotels). The standard is valid for timber frame-, post and beam- and/or massive wood constructions.
If buildings are partly built using timber, the provisions in this standard apply accordingly.
