Diese ÖNORM enthält Verfahrens- und Vertragsbestimmungen für die Ausführung von Verbauarbeiten. Sie ist für den Verbau von Baugruben, Gräben und Künetten, die entweder von Hand oder maschinell ausgehoben werden und in denen Bauwerke hergestellt bzw. Einbauten verlegt werden, anzuwenden. Für die Ausführung von Ortskanalanlagen ist die ÖNORM B 2503 und für Transport- und Versorgungsleitungen von Wasserversorgungsanlagen die ÖNORM B 2538-2 zusätzlich zu beachten. Die Verfahrens- und Vertragsbestimmungen von Untertagebauarbeiten sind in ÖNORM B 2203, von Injektionsarbeiten in ÖNORM B 2270, von Schlitzwandarbeiten in ÖNORM B 2271, von Bohrpfahlarbeiten in ÖNORM B 2272, von Verankerungsarbeiten in Locker- und Festgestein in ÖNORM B 2273 geregelt.
