This Austrian standard facilitates the exchange of structured geo-data (semantically classified vector geometry data, being spatially referenced in terms of position and altitude, with additional attributes) between different users and systems, observing agreed rules for structure and meaning. It follows the standard ÖNORM EN ISO 19136 and thus a GML-based data exchange. The focus is on large-scale applications with quality requirements being common to surveying, communal administration and utility network documentation. By this Austrian standard, geo-data become accessible to a large circle of users. Uniformity, reproducibility, and automation of access augment the quality of decision-making. This Austrian standard belongs to a family of standards (partly existing, partly in development), which pave the way to a geo-information hub that enables searching, ordering, delivering and invoicing of geo-data.
