Angaben über Maße, Stellflächen, Bewegungsflächen und Abstände von Möbeln dienen als Richtwerte für die Gestaltung von Möbeln bei der Planung, Ausstattung und Einrichtung von Wohn-, Arbeits- und Aufenthaltsräumen. Zugrundegelegt werden die Körpermaße von Erwachsenen zwischen 16 und 60 Jahren und von Kindern zwischen 6 und 12 Jahren. Diese Werte schließen 90 Prozent der österreichischen Bevölkerung ein. Alle Maße werden anhand von Zeichnungen und Tabellen erläutert.
