Die Norm beschreibt ein chemisches Analyseverfahren zur Bestimmung der ausblasbaren (POX) und extrahierbaren (EOX), organisch gebundenen Halogene in Schlamm und Sediment. Die organisch gebundenen Halogene werden durch Ausblasen oder nach Extraktion mit Hexan erfaßt, in einer Wasserstoff-Sauerstoff-Flamme verbrannt und mittels eines geeigneten Detektionsgerätes gemessen.
