Arbitration board

In accordance with NormG 2016, Austrian Standards International is obligated to set up an arbitration board, which can be convened upon request. It is the responsibility of the arbitration board to review decisions made by Austrian Standards International in the following circumstances:

  • Rejection or acceptance of an application for standardisation
  • Rejection or acceptance of a participant
  • Rejection of consideration of a statement
  • Divestiture of a participant or committee chair
  • Establishment or dissolution of a committee at the request of interested parties
  • Balance of the make-up of a committee

The members of the arbitration board perform their duties impartially. The members (2024 – 2026 term of office) are:

  • All applications must be made using the online form provided on this page.
  • Please complete the online form in full – all fields marked with a * are mandatory.
  • In cases relating to Items 1.1 (1-5) of the rules of procedure, the application must be made within three months of the disputed decision coming to light.
  • State that you are submitting the application in time (see Item 2.2 of the rules of procedure: Introduction of the procedure).
  • In your application (DOCX - 0.8mb), state your demand, including the reasons why you believe that your interests in matters are being impaired in accordance with Item 1.1 (1-6), and provide the necessary evidence.
  • Upload the completed request via the online form.
  • Please note that there is a submission fee of EUR 100 (excluding VAT) for every application made to the arbitration board. The submission fee cannot be reimbursed.
