This guideline is applicable for the maintenance of cathodic protection systems for buried natural gas pipelines made of steel, together with Guideline G B300. For underground tanks made of steel, required for the operation of natural gas pipelines, this guideline may be applied analogously and ÖNORM EN 13636 has to be applied in addition to this. The commissioning and decommissioning of cathodic protections systems is dealt in OVGW Guideline G B112. For the maintenance of cathodic protection systems for complex natural gas pipeline facilities the OVGW Guideline G B333 is applicable. When working on electrical systems, as well as for the inspection the relevant provisions of the electrical engineering law must be observed. The OVGW guideline G B332 shows the relevant directives and standards respectively the contained measures.
