Die Bestimmungen dieser Richtlinie sind zum Schutz der Gesundheit von Personen der Allgemeinbevölkerung durch Beschränkung der Exposition gegenüber elektromagnetischen Feldern im Frequenzbereich von 0 Hz bis 300 GHz anzuwenden. Diese Richtlinie ist nicht anzuwenden für die Beurteilung der Exposition von Personen mit metallischen oder elektronischen Implantaten wie z. B. Herzschrittmachern, Defibrillatoren, Cochlea-Implantaten oder metallischen Prothesen. Die im Rahmen einer beruflichen Tätigkeit oder bei medizinischen Anwendungen auftretende Exposition von Personen ist nicht Gegenstand dieser Richtlinie.
