ONR 21990

This ONR (ON Rule) has been prepared by ON-W 1011-01 ENC-EUROCODES and defines rules for the application of standards intended for planning, design and calculation in the field of civil engineering. It is based on the principle that standards packages have to be considered as coherent entities.This means that, for practical application, the Standards of the ÖNORM B 4xxx series, the Standards of the ÖNORM EN 199x and of the ÖNORM B 199x series as well as the documents of the Prestandard VORNORM ÖNORM ENV 199x series shall not be mixed up. As concerns the documents of the ENV series, the different status of ÖNORM ENV and of Prestandard VORNORM ÖNORM ENV should be taken into account. In Austria, only ENV 1994 (all Parts) has been published as ÖNORM ENV 1994 (all Parts). All other parts have been issued as VORNORM ÖNORM ENV. When applying the prestandards of the ÖNORM ENV 199x series, reference should also be made to the parts already withdrawn of the Prestandard (e.g. VORNORM ENV 1991-1-1). This ONR applies only to project, planning, dimensioning, design, maintenance and conversion of works in the fields of building construction and civil engineering and includes geotechnical aspects, fire protection and seismic activity design as well as aspects of design of structures with limited service life.
