This ON-Rule specifies requirements on acceptance testing and constancy testing on image display devices displaying monochrome picture information by the means of grey values on monitors, e.g. CRT-monitors, TFT-monitors and projection systems. This includes all monochrome and colour picture systems as used by medical systems in combination with Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS): Computer tomography (CT), MR, digital radiography (DR), radioscopy, digital subtraction angiography (DSA), sonography (US), nuclear medical investigations (NM), PACS. This ON-Rule does not apply on (analog) X/Y-Review Work Stations as used in e.g. nuclear medicine. This ON-Rule describes the acceptance testing of picture quality of Review Work Stations, the constancy testing for the periodic verification of the picture quality of Review Work Stations, the testing and measurement quantities to be used for the acceptance and constancy testing, etc.
