Radon and its secundary products exposes the general public to potential health risks. Comprehensive studies in Austria indicate an indoor average value of radon of 100 Bq/m³. The inhalation of radon causes about 40 % of the entire effective dose of the exposition sum of natural and simulated radiation sources. In this connection the present ÖNORM describes different remedial measures on buildings to reduce the radon concentration in buildings.
