This ÖNORM is applicable to leak tests of sealed radioactive sources during the period of their use and storage. This includes periodic inspections and audits by excessive stress or other evidence of a leak in the hull. Similarly, time intervals for recurring leak tests of sealed radioactive sources are defined in this ÖNORM subject to the requirement by the Radiation Protection Act and have an activity up to 500 TBq. Not covered by this ÖNORM leak tests on sealed sources to be considered for the special criteria (eg radionuclide).
